With my 25 years experience in credit scoring and mortgage loans, I’ve seen it all.  But the most curious are these 3 reasons why a credit score is low.
#1… Missed a payment.  Most people think that missing 1 payment on a credit card, auto loan, or mortgage isn’t that big of a deal.  It’s actually the largest score killer there is.  I’ve seen a credit score plunge from 720 to 580 with missing 1 payment.
#2… Maxed out credit cards, that are paid off every month.  Sound a bit off?  I have talked with thousands over the years that have perfect payment history, and pay off their credit cards every month, but still have a high 600 credit score.  The problem, waiting for the statement in the mail to pay off the cards.  When your statement is cut, that’s when your balances are reported to the credit bureaus.  So…
